Submission Guidelines
Aim and scope
The Journal of Science and Technology publishes original, high‑quality research across all branches of science and engineering, including but not limited to physical sciences, life sciences, computer science, information technology, environmental science, materials science, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, and related interdisciplinary fields.
Papers should be of interest to an international audience and contribute new knowledge, methods, or critical insights to the field.
Submission criteria
All submissions must:
Be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Report work that has been conducted in accordance with relevant ethical standards and, where applicable, approved by an appropriate institutional ethics or research committee.
Include accurate, complete references and properly label all tables, figures, and supplementary material.
Obtain prior permission to reproduce any copyrighted material (e.g., figures, images, datasets, long quotations) and retain or secure such rights before submission.
Peer review and selection
The journal operates a peer‑review process (typically double‑blind) to ensure scientific rigor, originality, and relevance.
Submissions are first assessed by the editorial team for scope and quality; those that meet the criteria are sent to independent experts for review. Based on reviewers’ feedback, the editorial board decides on acceptance, revision, or rejection.
Originality, plagiarism, and AI‑generated content
The journal enforces high standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. Manuscripts must be substantially original; any use of others’ work must be adequately cited.
The use of plagiarism‑detection software, iThenticate by Turnitin is standard; manuscripts with a similarity index beyond 20% may be returned for revision or rejected.
AI‑generated text intended to replace original scholarly work (e.g., automated drafting of entire sections without substantial author oversight) is not permitted. Use of AI tools (e.g., grammar checkers, translation aids) must be transparently disclosed and should not compromise the authenticity of the research contribution.
Authorship and contributions
All authors listed on a manuscript must have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, analysis, or interpretation of the work, and must approve the final version.
Changes to authorship (addition, deletion, or rearrangement of authors) after submission are generally not permitted unless strongly justified and approved in writing by the editorial office.
Manuscript format and style
Submissions should be prepared as follows:
File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or LaTeX (with source files and PDF).
Language: English, in clear, professional scientific style.
Font: Times New Roman or similar serif typeface, size 12 pt for main text; 10 pt for figure captions and references.
Line spacing: 1.5 spacing throughout.
Margins: At least 1 inch (2.5 cm) on all sides.
Length: Adhere to the word‑count limits specified under each submission type; abstracts are typically 150–250 words and must be unstructured (single paragraph).
Structure: Standard IMRaD or discipline‑appropriate structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion/Conclusion) for research articles; narrative or theme‑based structure for reviews and commentaries.
Abstract, keywords, and headings
Abstract: A concise, stand‑alone summary of the purpose, methods, key results, and main conclusions.
Keywords: 4–8 keywords or phrases that reflect the main topic and help indexing.
Headings: Use a clear hierarchy (e.g., Level 1, Level 2) to organize the manuscript for readability.
Tables, figures, and supplementary material
Tables should be editable (not images) and numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, etc.) with captions above.
Figures should be submitted in high‑resolution (minimum 300 dpi) in commonly supported formats (TIFF, EPS, PDF, or high‑quality PNG/JPEG). Captions should be placed below each figure.
Supplementary material (e.g., datasets, code, extended proofs) may be hosted online and referenced in the article; size and format limits should be stated in the journal’s instructions.
Citation and referencing style
The journal follows a standard scientific citation style i.e IEEE Style.
References must be complete and consistent, including DOIs where available.
In‑text citations should uniquely identify sources and match the reference list exactly.
Article Processing Charge (APC)
Charging an Article Processing Charge (APC) is essential for our open access journal. The APC covers rigorous peer review, editorial work, and administrative support. It funds Crossref DOI registration, reference linking, and Turnitin’s iThenticate plagiarism checks to maintain scholarly integrity. The APC also supports the technical infrastructure for hosting, indexing, and maintaining our website, ensuring research is easily accessible worldwide. This model enables immediate open access, facilitating the rapid dissemination and impact of research without subscription barriers. By charging an APC, we sustain the quality, integrity, and accessibility of our journal.
